Be sure you take the time to show your current and old customers you appreciate their business. Often times we get stuck in the day to day of our business and just surviving at accomplishing our task list, and we forget the most important reason we are ‘around’….Our lovely, beautiful customers!
Ways to show your appreciation:
1. Provide a gift and/or service they would really appreciate. For example in my company, I might give a custom email blast as a way of appreciation for a marketing retainer client. It doesn’t cost me too much hard cost, but it’s a little bit extra that provides value and shows I appreciate them.
2. Send something. Even a simple card is a nice gesture. A hand written card for a seasonal holiday, just let them know you are still there and are thinking of them!
3. Be an asset. This sounds funny, but really, the best thing to give to your customers are things that they need. When they do buy a service or product, make sure you are of value and improving their business or solving a problem in some way for their needs.
4. Listen. Asking the right questions, closing your mouth and just hearing what they have to say will allow you to understand exactly what they need from you.
